I met this very lovely woman while struggling with my dog, who for some reason accompanied me on my camera round today, turning the entire effort into his own tug-of-war with me each time I aimed my camera. While posing, this woman even offered to hold the leash for me. I must have looked somewhat less than graceful.
Headshots in the Street is a series of unplanned, totally improvised shots of people encountered on the streets of Los Angeles. I treat each one as a mini-session, sometimes lasting no more than thirty seconds. Each photo is given some minimal retouching and color correction before posting. The people are from all walks of life. Some actually turn out to be actors or models. Sometimes we talk a little and I hand out my business card so that the person can check to see if I post their photo.
Hi Mr. Cima,
Thank you for the post, it was nice to meet you. I did not think my photo would even get uploaded! The comments are so sweet. Los Angeles is a beautiful city so it was nice to get recognized on the street vs. where I live in crowded NYC.
Good luck with the blog and future projects.
Best, Chelsie
It was a pleasure, Chelsie. I understand about NY very well, having lived there for ten years. I am glad you liked seeing yourself in the photo!
Best of luck to you and I hope to run into you again in LA!
no wonder it’s called the city of angels
If a face could launch a thousand ships it would be this one. Who is she?
I don’t know who she is. I photograph these people just having met them. I don’t know who they are unless they decide to contact me through this site.
Beauty and thoughtful ! 🙂
Her eyes are saying, a little dog obedience would go a long way buddy! Her smile is showing kindness 😉
Yes. I think I had only about 20 seconds of her patience to click the shutter 3 times! She was a very excellent model and really nice. It’s interesting how some people get into the spirit of the photo shoot very quickly. So much gets revealed in their faces just because they don’t have time to get self-conscious.
